Riders: Be Prepared For Severe Weather

Spring in Kansas brings the chance of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the region. During most storms, your travel on CityGo, 81 Connection or Paratransit provided by OCCK Transportation will not be affected.

However, our area may experience severe storms or tornado warnings. In the most severe storms or during a tornado warning in the immediate area of your vehicle, the driver will give you directions about safety.  The dispatch office will be in contact with drivers during severe weather.

If the conditions are severe enough, the driver will tell customers to get off the vehicle and find a safe building to seek shelter.  If shelter is not available, it is recommended that customers lie flat in a ditch or other low-lying area. Do not get under an overpass or bridge. You are safer in a low, flat location.

In the event of a tornado warning, please do not use bus shelters instead of finding shelter in a building.

OCCK Transportation will post updates about service during an emergency online at www.salinacitygo, or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SalinaCityGo/. The Dispatch Office may be unavailable in an emergency if employees are evacuated from offices.

Regular transit service will resume as soon as the area is safe.
