CityGo to provide free rides on World Hunger Day 2022

SALINA, KS – OCCK Transportation is hoping to help raise awareness about food insecurity and adequate nutrition by offering free rides on CityGo, and the complementary paratransit program, for World Hunger Day, Saturday, May 28, 2022.

According to worldhungerday.org, more than 2.4 billion people don’t have access to adequate nutrition worldwide.  World Hunger Day was founded by The Hunger Project in 2011 to call attention to the global food crisis.

“Transportation should not be an obstacle for access to food and nutrition, “said Michelle Griffin, Mobility Manager for North Central Kansas.  “By offering free rides on World Hunger Day, we hope to help more people increase their access.”

Paratransit rides must be scheduled by 4 p.m. the day before.
