Ellsworth County to Celebrate Kansas Mobility Week 2023

Ellsworth County will be celebrating the 3rd Annual Kansas Mobility Week from November 5 to 11, 2023 with some local events.

The City of Wilson will honor all of its volunteer drivers during the week.

The Ellsworth County Health Department will be the host for a display about Ellsworth County public transportation options starting Monday, November 6th, until Friday, November 10th.  The display will be in the lobby and will showcase transportation options available to Ellsworth County residents.

OCCK Transportation is providing free rides to the general public on all services, including CityGo, regional paratransit, GoAbilene, GoConcordia, 81 Connection and KanConnect, on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, during the 3rd Annual Kansas Mobility Week happening November 5 – 11, 2023.  Those services for Ellsworth County include regional paratransit.  Regional paratransit rides must be scheduled in advance by calling 785.826.1583.

KANcycle is offering the promo code “MobWeek23” for free rides on KANcycle bicycles during Mobility Week.  This promo code is good for all locations in the KANcycle service area, including the two racks of bikes in Ellsworth.  Bikes are easy to check out.  Riders need to download the Movatic app, find a rack with an available bike, enter the promo code on the payment screen, and start riding.  To end the ride, the process is reversed.

“We are pleased to offer these events to the public,” said Michelle Griffin, Mobility Manager. “We are continually working together to educate the public on the importance and the availability of transportation options.  This statewide event is a great way of showcasing all that Kansas has to offer.”

From November 5 to November 11, 2023, public transportation providers, Mobility Managers, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and partners across the state are celebrating the second annual Kansas Mobility Week.  Agencies will host events to encourage Kansans to make efficient and safe transportation choices, promote multimodal transportation options, and roll out new initiatives and policies.  These events promote travel choices such as public transit, walking, bicycling, safe driving, and ridesharing.
