OCCK and CityGo® Proudly Support the Smoky Hill River Festival

SALINA, KS – OCCK Transportation is proud to partner with the 2010 Smoky Hill River Festival to make traveling to this favorite hometown art and entertainment event even easier. CityGo bus service, which is operated and managed by OCCK, will offer free bus rides, extended hours, a special shuttle service, and more on Friday and Saturday, June 11th and 12th, during the Festival.

CityGo passengers with a Smoky Hill River Festival admission button will receive a complimentary ride to and from the Festival at Oakdale Park in Salina, or anywhere along CityGo’s four routes. CityGo has three stops conveniently located near the park. In addition to offering free transportation, CityGo and OCCK will provide these special services:

  • CityGo will have extended service to accommodate riders who leave the Festival after normal operating hours. On June 11-12, CityGo will run a special-event service one-hour later than usual. Buses will depart from the Kenwood Park Drive footbridge, located across from the Bicentennial Center and the new Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park, on Friday at 9 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10 p.m., and on Saturday at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. and deliver passengers to any location within the Salina city limits. Passengers will need to inform the driver of their destination upon entering. This bus will not pick up passengers from any other bus stops or locations.
  • A white OCCK shuttle bus will offer free rides to and from the Festival and a satellite parking lot located at Central High School on Crawford Street. This white OCCK shuttle bus will stop at the ticket booth next to the Central High School Football Stadium. Between 12 noon and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 11-12, this OCCK shuttle bus will take Festival goers to the 4th Street footbridge near the Salina Journal building for convenient entrance into the park. Riders can catch the shuttle at the same location for a return trip to the parking lot. The shuttle will depart from the ticket booth at the Football Stadium at the top of each hour; arrive at the 4th Street footbridge at 15 minutes past the hour; make a return stop at the Football Stadium ticket booth at 30 minutes past the hour; stop again at the 4th Street footbridge near the Salina Journal at 45 minutes past the hour; and then return to the Football Stadium ticket booth to repeat its hourly schedule.
  • Paratransit service is also available at no cost on Friday and Saturday, June 11-12, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for those who qualify. Service is reserved for persons with disabilities, the elderly, and their attendants and transportation should be scheduled in advance by calling 826-1583. Buses will pick up passengers at their homes with service to the west side of Oakdale Park with a return trip home during operating hours. For more information, call 826-1583.   • CityGo® does not operate on Sundays, including Sunday, June 13th.
